Performed by Sofie Hesselholdt and Vibeke Mejlvang at the opening of the solo show (→ Works →) THIS MOMENT is the BEGINNING at Thorvaldsens Museum, Copenhagen, Denmark. 

As part of the installation, objects from the performance—a wreath of artificial flowers and a white flag—were placed on the sculpture group featuring Victoria, the goddess of victory, on the museum's roof. These elements remained in place throughout the exhibition period.

In this work, Hesselholdt & Mejlvang refer to the artist and patron Bolette Puggaard’s daring performance championing artistic freedom in 1841. For the topping-out ceremony at Thorvaldsens Museum, she placed the French flag of liberty, the Tricolour, and a wreath on the building’s newly raised roof timbers to press for an end to absolute monarchy – an end that came with the abolition of absolute monarchy and the first constitutional act eight years later – one year after Thorvaldsens Museum opened to the public.
