Homeland Security, 2012
Installation. Mixed media, skin from a Danish Jersey cow, fur from a Greenlandic musk ox, lion ears, patchwork wall hangings, pleated painted flags, model house.
Variable dimensions.
Ribbons, Flags and pleated decorations fill the room with red, white and black colors as if it were a special national occasion that was to be celebrated. But the stage is empty, and like guests who have arrived too late the audience is left with the remains – among them a lion enthroned in the middle of the room.
The project is generously supported by the Danish Arts Foundation.
Homeland Security was shown as a solo show at Platform Arts, Belfast, Northern Ireland (2015).
